Colville Indian Plywood and Veneer in Omak, Washington, has closed indefinitely, with the loss of about 230 jobs, reports The Wenatchee World.
Troy Johnson, ceo of Colville Tribal Enterprise Corporation (CTEC), said the mill was forced to stop production after plywood prices plummeted. He said he had every reason to believe plywood prices would improve in the spring with the seasonal upturn in construction.
CTEC bought the plywood mill in 2002.
