The scholarship celebrates the life of Harry Earl, who had a successful career in the wood panel products sector, culminating with the position of technical manager at Kronospan in Chirk, UK.
To help celebrate Harry’s life applications are invited from early career academics and industrialists working within or interacting with the wood panel products sector.
The BioComposites Centre, Kronospan and CRC Ltd launched the annual award in 2015 and are currently inviting applications from early career academics and industrialists in the wood panel product sector.
Deadline for submission is July 1, 2019 and preference will be given to candidates who use the award to attend training events specific to the industry such as The International Panel Products Symposium (IPPS) or IPPS Masterclass.
This year the International Panel Products Symposium will be held in Llandudno, UK on the 8 and 9 October 2019. The conference will cover topics related to wood based panels and other innovative timber composites.
With spaces available for oral or poster presentations the symposium will cover topics such as; processing technologies and pre-treatments, resin systems, fire retardants, additives and preservative treatments, indoor air quality and legislation for emissions in service, innovation in wood based panels, recycling and cascading uses.
