Flakeboard has commenced start-up of its thermally-fused melamine press, supplied by Siempelkamp, at its particleboard plant in Bennettsville, South Carolina.
This new installation equips the particleboard and MDF site with a 5x20ft short-cycle press capable of running 180 cycles/hour in multi-length dimensions of four and five foot widths.
Building value-added in this location provides the region with access to Flakeboard’s range of TFM designs including speciality melamine panels such as Wear Resistant Melamine (WRM), and fire-rated and moisture resistant products.
Flakeboard is due to install a further melamine press from Siempelkamp, slated for Albany, Oregon in 2009.
