The new test laboratory has been built to exacting requirements and improves on the capabilities that had been at the old facility.

These include increased formaldehyde emission testing capacity (12 small chambers and two large chambers); an indoor ‘rain chamber’ for panels that have to be wetted before testing; the addition of a hot press to improve adhesive testing capability; and four universal test machines (from 2k to 120k pound capacity) to conduct structural tests on a wide variety of wood products.

The laboratory has been accredited under ISO/IEC 17025 by IAS, with all equipment checked and calibrated.

Brian Thompson, laboratory supervisor of the new Springfield laboratory, says: "We expect our new facility to improve what we already do for our clients, and allow us to do even more for more of them."
