United Panel Group (UPG), of Riga, Latvia and Moscow, plans to launch birch plywood production at its Russian site in Podosinovsk in 2012, reports Euwid .
The company’s veneer mill at the same location began production early this year. Now UPG is reported to be in talks with machinery suppliers on the delivery of birch plywood manufacturing equipment, and has indicated that the placement of the orders is now imminent.
The Podosinovsk mill is to be fitted with a plywood press and overlaying facilities, which UPG expects will be delivered and installed during 2011.
