After several years of negotiation, Schattdecor, based in Thansau, Germany, signed a takeover contract on January 23. The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Coveright do Brasil, located in São José dos Pinhais in Brazil’s Paraná state, supplies ready impregnated lamination papers to regional wood panel producers without their own impregnation equipment.

The Brazilian offshoot, which employs 80, operates three impregnation lines turning out between 70 and 80 million m2 of treated papers per year.

The plant was constructed in 2002.

The acquisition, part of Shattdecor’s strategic growth plan, will allow it to offer its Latin America customers printed decor paper, melamine film and finish foil from a single source, while adding to its decor expertise, the group stated.
