Despite a slower domestic market and economic crises abroad, Fibraplac just signed a contract to buy the Siempelkamp ContiRoll line likely to be delivered by the end of 2013. Commercial production is understood to be planned at present for the second half of 2014.

The latest order for the Glorinha site in Rio Grande do Sul state suggests that Fibraplac has all but abandoned a tentative project, it first revealed in 2010, to launch new MDF and MDP lines in Campinas, São Paulo state by 2014.

The company, part of the family owned Brazilian Isdra Group, already runs a smaller Siempelkamp continuous MDP line with a nominal capacity of almost 500,000m3/year at its single site. In addition, Fibraplac operates two older 750m3/day (around 250,000m3/year) MDF production lines, also supplied by Siempelkamp.
