Sandvik’s textured press plate and endless press belt operation – formerly Hindrichs-Auffermann – will use the Interzum fair to launch its 2009/10 sample collection under a theme of “SteelArt”.
Since being taken over by Sandvik Process Systems in 2000, this side of the business has undergone a number of major changes, including the re-engineering of production processes. Its full integration into the organisation means, says Sandvik, that it is now capable of providing a complete service to the wood based panel, laminate and melamine coating industries, from base to surface.
The company says that Sandvik’s SteelArt collection has been developed to show how art and science can be combined in both smooth and textured finishes to create decorative surfaces that are at the same time tactile, practical and emotionally stimulating. Among the themes being shown are textiles, leather and deep-textured natural wood surfaces.

A new facility workflow production process is also in place, says Sesa, and equipment has been reconfigured to complement the new workflow for optimum efficiencies between processes.
Financial commitment to the expansion effort will result in an investment of several million euros over the course of 2009.
