In a major move to improve the quality of its wood products and wood furniture exports, the Chinese government has issued regulations for mandatory inspections of these products.
These include: Exported wood products and furniture must meet the standards of the country of import; exporters must become registered and pass inspections for a functioning quality control system; manufacturers are required to test the raw materials used in production to ensure they comply with heavy metal and formaldehyde limits and fireproof performance; companies must provide written declarations to China Customs stating that the quality of all products for export have met the quality standards of the importing countries.
