The technical conference is a leading forum for research and innovation in wood-based panels, attracting people from across the world. It is an ideal networking opportunity for science and industry reporting developments in particleboard, OSB, MDF, plywood and fibreboard.

This year the programme will feature a keynote address by Alastair Kerr, director general of the Wood Panel Industries Federation (WPIF), on Decarbonisation of the UK wood panel manufacturing sector – The opportunities and challenges of net zero.

Topics being discussed include the commercial reality of MDF recycling; next generation mass timber from fast rotation pulp logs utilizing Lignor CLST strand technology; studies into improving the fire retardancy of particleboards; MDF panels from acetylated wood chips; and plasma treatment as an approach to lower formaldehyde emission from MDF and particleboard.
