AFPA-member companies produced three billion board feet of lumber in 2012

AFPA-member panelboard operators produced 1.1 billion ft2 of 7/16in equivalent product in 2012 valued at US$341m.

Production was down from 2011 by eight million ft2 (0.7%), but higher prices caused values to increase by US$73m (27.1%).
For the Q4, 2012 panelboard production was 269 million ft2 with a value of US$90m.

Compared to the Q4, 2011, production was up roughly 11 million ft2 (4.4%) and values rose by US$28m (44.5%). In comparison to the Q3, 2012 production increased by four million ft2 or 1.4%, but values declined by US$2m or 1.6%.
