CPA officials had met on September 17 to discuss implementing strict Covid protocols for the Fall Meeting at Leesburg, Virginia, on October 17-19 which would have included mandatory wearing of masks for all indoor functions and requiring either proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a recent negative PCR test.
CPA Officers expressed several concerns regarding the uncertainties presented by the Delta variant and related COVID transmission rates. Recent meeting attendee cancellations, coupled with some reinstated corporate travel restrictions and lower than expected registration numbers one month out from the meeting led to the conclusion that the most prudent course of action to safeguard members would be to cancel the in person 2021 CPA Fall Meeting.
“I am disappointed in this result but am hopeful for substantial improvements in 2022,” said Andrew O’Hare, CPA president.
The CPA is in the process of organising virtual General Sessions and Board and Committee meetings to conduct CPA business.
“We will be working to prepare a schedule of meetings over the coming week and will share those details as soon as they are available.”
The CPA’s next planned physical meeting will be Laguna Cliffs Marriott, California in May 2022.
