The construction of a plant to make MDF in southern Binh Phuoc province has recently been confirmed with the signing of US$124m contract between the Vietnam Rubber Corporation and the Republic of Korea’s DongWha Holdings Corporation. The 30ha plant, with a capacity of 300,000m3/year is thought to be destined to become the largest and most modern MDF plant in Southeast Asia.
The Vietnam Rubber Corporation will contribute 49% of the total investment. Scheduled to be operational at the end of 2009, the factory is expected to provide jobs for more than 100 local people.
