RoyOMartin (Martco) has celebrated the grand opening of the expansion of the Corrigan OSB factory with Texas governor Greg Abbott in attendance.

The enlargement, which follows the opening of a first press line at Corrigan in 2018, is billed as creating one of the largest board manufacturing facilities of its kind in North America.

The ceremony drew more than 200 attendees. Following a tour of the new facility, Governor Abbott touted the booming Texas economy and discussed the housing market.

“We are proud that Texas is home to a booming manufacturing sector,” Governor Abbott said.

“Corrigan OSB’s expanded manufacturing facility will provide needed, high-quality building materials to Texas’ growing economy. Thanks to our manufacturing sector, ‘Made in Texas’ has never been a bigger brand.”

Martco has pressed its first board in June. Production capacity is about 500,000m3.

Dieffenbacher supplied a four-head forming station, a CombiLine – which transforms continuous forming into discontinuous mat preparation without raw material loss and an 8 x 24 feet, 16-opening press.

The second facility significantly increases the mill’s size and production capacity (approximately 43%) annually and provides a total of 300 jobs at the mill.

The line is the third supplied by Dieffenbacher to Martco. The first line has a 12x26ft 14-opening press with a capacity of around 750,000m3, which means total site OSB capacity is well in excess of 1 million m3.

Martco has a full press rebuild project beginning in January 2025 at its OSB facility in Oakdale, Louisiana.
