Weyerhaeuser says there is still interest in its shuttered OSB mill in Miramichi, New Brunswick, which has been up for sale since it closed in 2007, reports the Times & Transcript.

There have been several failed attempts by private investors to purchase the mill.

Weyerhaeuser spokesman Wayne Roznowski said it was too premature to expand upon the nature of the remaining interest in the mill, but stressed the company would only demolish the mill when all opportunities to sell had been exhausted.

The most recent potential buyer to publicly express an interest was Quebec businessman Jean-Guy Lesage, who said he wanted to bring the OSB mill back online and purchase the former Atcon plywood mill in Nelson.
